Newport Flower Club

“Newport Flower Club was delighted to celebrate its 60th Anniversary with an afternoon tea and demonstration by Elizabeth Graham on Thursday 1st September 2022.

Elizabeth is our longest standing active member, having joined as a teenager in 1968.  It therefore seemed particularly fitting that she, being a national demonstrator, should give us a demonstration with a bit of background as to how things have changed over the years.  She did not disappoint!  And while looking backwards to what has happened over the last 60 years she encouraged us all to look forward and embrace the necessary changes in the years to come.

We were also delighted to welcome a number of members of the Pontypool Floral Art group who have entertained us so well over the years and who have also celebrated their 60th Anniversary this year.

The afternoon was a great success and enjoyed by the 50 or so people who attended.  Present members who could not be with us and members who we have lost over the years were also remembered.

We hope to be able to continue for a number of years yet!”
